Ingest Fees

As a short film festival we find the ingest fee rather expensive. A five minute film costs the same as 30 minutes.
A programme of 10 films for 100 minutes cost $50 but if we join them all together it's $25.
On the other hand if you have a film in four chapters with each chapter under 30min, then the total ingest fees would actually be cheaper.
Scrap the ingest fee altogether, you make your money on the playback.

Agreed...FilmFreeway considers anything up to 40 minutes to be a short!
And while I'd love to see the ingest fee scrapped, I do understand that simply ingesting a film does incur some costs for you all. Maybe the ingest fee could be indexed to the total number of minutes (or gigabytes) uploaded. Or for the length of time films spend on your servers once they've been uploaded. Or whatever else reflects the actual cost of uploading, transcoding, and storing the files.

If you keep the ingest fee, please set the duration cutoffs a bit higher. Maybe 5 minutes for a free super-short (to accommodate filmmaker intros and recorded greetings for livestreamed or recorded events). Maybe 50 minutes for a feature - 30 minutes is not feature-length.
